Intro to Stained Glass
Learn how to make a stained glass sun catcher using the copper foil method.

In this course you will learn how to make a simple sun catcher using the copper foil method.

At the end of the course you will have a completed sun catcher that is 6″ tall.

Classes are $85 and materials are included in the course cost.

All classes take place at Maker Labs (780 E Cordova Street).

Classes are 5 hours in total and are available in two-day sessions during weeknights or a one-day intensive class on the weekends.

Please note, during the summer I will not be running classes as it is too hot in my studio space.

This class is designed for adults so if you have a child that would like to join the class please contact us in advance to see if they can be accomodated.

NEW! Build a Monster Workshop!
Make a stained glass monster, just in time for Halloween!

 

In this course you will make a monster sun catcher using the copper foil method.

There are separate classes for people with and without prior experience in stained glass.

Once the piece is finished the face will be painted on with glass paint. The monsters will come with a little birth certificate where you can name them and give them a little description.

At the end of the course you will have a completed monster sun catcher that is 4″ x 5″.

All materials are included in the course cost.

Due to space limitations, this class is limited to 6 participants.

This class is designed for adults so if you have a child that would like to join the class please contact us in advance to see if they can be accommodated.

You will be working with glass and lead. Expect a few cuts. This class should not be taken by anyone that is pregnant as lead may cause birth defects.

Make a stained glass pumpkin, just in time for Halloween!

 

Make a stained glass pumpkin!

In this course you will learn how to make a pumpkin sun catcher using the copper foil method. You will learn how to cut glass, use a glass grinder, and learn how to solder. No prior experience in stained glass is needed.

Once the piece is finished the face will be painted on with glass paint.

At the end of the course you will have a completed pumpkin sun catcher that is 5.5″ x 4.25″.

NEW! Stained Glass Mirror Workshop
Make a stained glass mirror that can be hung on a wall.

 

Learn how to make a home decor mirror.

In this course you will learn how to make a decorative mirror to hang on a wall. Students will learn how to work with mirror, about rebar reinforcement, and framing the finished piece with either lead or zinc. This course is not for beginners and students must have prior experience working with stained glass.

At the end of the course you will have a completed mirror that is approximately 12″ x 12″ to hang on a wall.

Although there are a few patterns to choose from, students can opt for different designs. Please contact me for more details.

It is recommended that you bring a bottle of water and to tie your hair back if you have long hair.

All materials are included in the course cost.

Intermediate Stained Glass Course
Learn how to make a stained glass window panel in a zinc frame. Intermediate courses are held 4 times a year in March, May, October, and November.

In this course you will learn how to make a stained glass window panel.

You will learn how to build a panel in a zinc frame, use the glass saw, and finish your project with patina. This course will build on the Intro to Stained Glass class and is a pre-requisite in order to take the class.

At the end of the course you will have a completed window panel encased in a zinc frame that is 12″ x 16″.

Classes are $225 plus GST and all materials are included in the course cost.

All classes take place at Maker Labs (780 E Cordova Street).

This course is 12 hours in total and takes place in four 3 hour sessions, once a week over a four week period.

For students that register 1 week prior to the start of the class, I will build a custom window pattern specific to your liking.

Stained Glass Terrarium Class
Learn how to make a small stained glass terrarium.

In this course you will learn how to make a small stained glass terrarium.

The back panel of the terrarium will be laser etched with either a stock pattern or a custom pattern of the student’s choosing.  Students have a choice of what colour they want for the back glass panel as well.  At the end of the course you will have a completed terrarium that is 4″ x 7″ x 3″.

This is not a beginner class.  Students must have taken my Intro to Stained Glass class or have previous experience cutting glass and soldering in order to take this course.

Classes are $65 plus GST and all materials are included in the course cost.

All classes take place at Maker Labs (780 E Cordova Street).

This course is 2.5 hours in total.

For students that want a custom etching, they will have to register 1 week prior to the start of the class. Stock etching patterns can be viewed here.

Build a Snowman Workshop!

In this course you will learn how to make a simple sun catcher using the copper foil method. You will learn how to cut glass, use a glass grinder, and use a soldering iron.

At the end of the course you will have a completed snowman sun catcher that is 6″ tall.

Snowman will be made out of glass, wire and solder. After soldering, facial features and other details will be painted on with glass paint.

Classes are 3 hours long and $65 for people with prior experience in stained glass  OR 4 hours long and $75 for people with no previous experience in stained glass.  All materials are included in the course cost.

Due to space limitations, this class is limited to 8 participants.

All classes take place at Maker Labs (780 E Cordova Street).

Spring Flowers Workshop
Make a stained glass flower that can be stuck in a pot or planted in a garden.

 

In this course you will make a flower using the copper foil method. At the end of the class students have the option of permanently “planting” the flower in a terracotta pot with fake moss, or taking it home as-is to stick into an existing planter or garden.

There are separate classes for people with and without prior experience in stained glass.

Students will have two different flower patterns to choose from as well as a wide selection of coloured glass to build their project out of. Flowers will be soldered to a thick wire that sticks out of the bottom so it can be secured in a pot or planted in dirt.

At the end of the course you will have a completed flower that is 5″ tall.

It is recommended that you bring a bottle of water and to tie your hair back if you have long hair.
