Intro to Stained Glass

Learn how to make a stained glass sun catcher using the copper foil method.

In this course you will learn how to make a simple sun catcher using the copper foil method.

At the end of the course you will have a completed sun catcher that is 6″ tall.

Classes are $125 plus GST and materials are included in the course cost.

All classes take place at Maker Labs (780 E Cordova Street).

Classes are 5.5 hours long with a half hour break in the middle and are run on weekends. 

This class is designed for adults so if you have a child that would like to join the class please contact us in advance to see if they can be accomodated.

You will be working with glass and lead. Expect a few cuts. This class should not be taken by anyone that is pregnant as lead may cause birth defects.

Intermediate Stained Glass Course

Learn how to make a stained glass window panel in a zinc frame.

Intermediate courses are currently on hold due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.


In this course you will learn how to make a stained glass window panel.

You will learn how to build a panel in a zinc frame, use the glass saw, and finish your project with patina. This course will build on the Intro to Stained Glass class and is a pre-requisite in order to take the class.

At the end of the course you will have a completed window panel encased in a zinc frame that is 12″ x 16″.

Classes are $350 plus GST and all materials are included in the course cost.

All classes take place at Maker Labs (780 E Cordova Street).

This course is 15 hours in total and takes place in five 3 hour sessions, once a week over a five week period.

For students that register 1 week prior to the start of the class, I will build a custom window pattern specific to your liking.

You will be working with glass and lead. Expect a few cuts. This class should not be taken by anyone that is pregnant as lead may cause birth defects.

Stained Glass Terrarium Class

Learn how to make a small stained glass terrarium.


In this course you will learn how to make a small stained glass terrarium.

The back panel of the terrarium will be laser etched with either a stock pattern or a custom pattern of the student’s choosing.  Students have a choice of what colour they want for the back glass panel as well.  At the end of the course you will have a completed terrarium that is 4″ x 7″ x 3″.

This is not a beginner class.  Students must have taken my Intro to Stained Glass class or have previous experience cutting glass and soldering in order to take this course.

Classes are $85 plus GST and all materials are included in the course cost.

All classes take place at Maker Labs (780 E Cordova Street).

This course is 2.5 hours in total.

For students that want a custom etching, they will have to register 1 week prior to the start of the class. Stock etching patterns can be viewed here.

Stained Glass Window Corner Workshop

Make a beautiful accent piece for any window frame.


Learn how to make a stained glass window corner accent piece using the copper foil method.

This stained glass class takes place once a week over 3 weeks.

In this course you will learn how to make a stained glass window corner. This piece adds a beautiful decor accent to any pre-existing window frame.

Students will cut, foil, and solder the glass and add a frame and hooks at the end so it can be hung from a window frame. Prior experience in stained glass is required.

At the end of the course you will have a completed window corner that is 8″ x 8″.

It is recommended that you bring a bottle of water and to tie your hair back if you have long hair.

This course is $225 plus GST and all materials are included in the course cost.
